R Summer went bye way 2 Fast!

We did a lot during the summer but why does it still
feel like we accomplished nothing.

LOL!

Lately, our biggest challenge we've been facing around here is accepting that there's been so much change. We don't quite know what to keep or let go of, but we Can hardly contain our surprises any longer,they're exciting!!!
you'll just have to wait 4 another post.

Well until then, Remember 2:

We made another attempt this year on a garden. So far so good. There was something nibbling on my lettuce. We sat outside trying to figure it out when suddenly a few sparrows decided to dive bomb our garden.

Huston we have a Bird infestation here!

That would explain all of all the dumb bird noises that we'd been having we didn't think anything of it because we'd always had a nest of dove every spring, but it sure was a LOT noisier this year & now we know why.

I was a bit leary planting this year so I doubled everything just in case 1 or 2 didn't grow it wouldn't matter, but guess what happened? I ended up planting the radishes to close together, so I picked quite a few of the bigger ones today. I tried one and didn't expect how hot it was going to be. I guess I'm used to the ones we'd buy at the grocery store, but these were so much better they were packing some heat!
Mmmmm... radishes so tasty!

Remember back HERE I told you about Tetriszinnie here's the story that goes with it:

We couldn't wait any longer for Vanessa to get here, so we tried to find a way to kill some time. It was the weekend before her big arrival, I talked shaun into playing Tetris Plus (1 of my game addictions) . We pulled out the PS3, got the game and then found out that one of our controllers was busted. A bit of a tragedy 'cause it's just not as fun playing alone. Shaun being the fixer that he is called up his Bro & asked to borrow his. And so it began..............................
We played, & played, and played, & played when we finally went to bed that night in our dreams we were still playing ( I'm not over exaggerating either it's very addicting ) . Friday turned into Saturday YEP still playing.


Then Saturday night rolled around and we were both stuck on two entirely different levels, so me being the clueless preggo said, "lets go for a walk on the Dixie trail" (I don't know if that is really it's name it's just what I've always called it). We drove over to the Dixie Center and went for a walk. I've always liked that trail, it has an amazing view of st. George not quite like the Dixie hill, but my favorite none the less. We laughed and talked about what life was going to be like as most new parents probably do. I remember Shaun saying what a nice night it was and no sooner than he said that we saw a bolt of lightning off in the distance! As breathtaking as it was we knew we might get rained on a little bit. So we started to make our way back to the car because we had quite a ways to go to get back. While were walking we started laughing about rain in the desert, and how it comes as quick as it leaves. I can't quite remember!

( people told me that my mind would return after the baby came, but I just think they were trying to motivate me 'cause I'm here to tell you that it didn't! )

I find it kind of funny because I told Shaun that the cold sprinkles actually felt good after all the summer heat we'd had. I swear just as I said that it started Pouring buckets. Anyway, on the way back to the car I saw the container where they kept the doggie bags Me with my preggo brain said, " let's get the doggie bags to put in the car so we don't get it wet." We weren't prepared no umbrella, blanket towel ect...... Ugh! So we grabbed a few and when we got back to the car I tried to stretch the bag out to put on the seat. Yeah about that they're not that big! I gave up trying to save my new car's seats and we got in and headed for home. It kept raining and the windshield wipers went as fast as they could. We couldn't see very far ahead, and they don't call it riverside drive for nothing! It was pretty dark and we were on a newly paved road without any light reflectors. Not a good idea, the road disappeared and re-appeared around each bend. At that point I was pretty freaked out, but all I said was What a dumb idea it was to go for a walk! If you've ever heard or hear us talk about 'going for a walk' and one of us says what a dumb idea, as we laugh! Now you'll understand why because now you know our dirty little secret & who knows you'll probably laugh too!

I know You are all wondering how we did with our Goal:

2 Simplify

Well we did pretty good not quite were we want to be, but it is a huge process and were getting closer every day. As anyone of you would know when you try to accomplish any new task it doesn't happen over night like we want it to. In the words of Shaun (or was it Melinda?), "Just get rid of the crap."
The things we learned are:
We don't need a lot to live mainly; Food, water, clothing, transportation for work & Shelter. everything else we've accumulated is either for fun or junk (we accumulated a lot over 10 years).
We were able to get rid of at least half of our junk, go us!
The things we're going to keep doing: 1. Before buying something we want wait 30 days & if we still want it, then we will go buy it. 2. keep taking inventory of what we have, don't or wont use & get rid of it. 3. maintain our good work.
So, how about a new goal 4 2010? Well here It is it's a big one but were up for the challenge

We express a sigh of relief as the last day of September comes to an end! You might ask us why so Here it goes. From July to September and a couple times it carried into October are our busiest times of the year. this is What I have recently named GLORy Days. I've finally named them this because it is always the time of the Year that we truly build our Characters and we like to reminisce them. They are the times We've have a lot of fun mixed in with a lot of Hard times & This year wasn't any different. We were just a little more prepared. Here is our chain of events Starting with the Fun:

you know it's bad when your brother tells you, "what's the life jacket for I could swim back to the dock faster that the rangers are towing us" Flooded basement times 2 (We know the silly stuff we wrote on the cement is still there The debut of the song WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS by GREEN DAY '05 thanks to st. george radio it played over & over while we painted the walls) Water fountain faucet. WaHOO!!! Yukon not running AGAIN, and anything else I missed but oh well!

we've taken inventory & think we weathered our storm quite well, but we had our wounds, bumps and Bruises! It's a good thing

Here's some halloween pics I didn't get to digi-scrapbook but we wanted to share our halloween with you. My Laptop downloaded a bunch of viruses from facebook and It crashed pretty hard with kevin being gone it took us a little longer to get it back up and running. yep, U can say we miss the guy, but he's out there doing great things.

Not how I had planned my Halloween post; however, sometimes you've just got to dance in the rain.

We bought an inner tube for Vanessa 4 when we go 2 the pool.
She was sooooo excited to get it watch this:

Shaun blew it up and took her swimming, but it didn't work as well as we thought. I guess he had to work twice as hard to keep V in it LOL well the funny thing was it had a leak in the seam.

We were so ready for a vacation, so I planned it. I told Shaun to get the days of but I didn't tell him where we were going. Suprise!!!!! our adventure begins early Wednesday morning, as Shaun packed our bags into the car a big gust of wind came and the trunk lid slammed him on the head. I was inside taking care of Vanessa and getting her ready to go she was a bit upset (later on vacation we figured out why She was getting 4 teeth all at once who could blame her for being a little upset) Shaun came in with a blood gushing down his head and leaving a blood trail behind him. I grabbed some towels and gave them to him & he said call my brother. It's awesome having family close by when you need them. Shaun kept asking how deep is it? I hope I don't have to get stitches. I helped him to the floor and Shane was here to save Shaun's life again. He glued his head together with dermabond & we were off to the airport to make our flight.
Our Destination: Orcas Island & Whidbey Island.

All in all we had a blast!
